I finally did something that I've been wanting and meaning to do for a long time...I went to the Harbour Dance Center and took an intro to hip hop class. I don't know why I never went before, and I'm so glad that I decided not to back out this time round. I had so much fun!!! One of the girls from Starbucks is in the mentor program at BC Ballet and takes dance classes at Harbour all the time. When I found out that she was going to take the intro to hip hop class, I freaked out. Finally, someone to go with who would actually go! Not someone that said they would, and then not ever go. Although, I almost didn't go today. I was suppose to go last week, but then blamed it on moving and stuff so I didn't go. Today I wasn't going to go because I was feeling too hot and lazy. Leana, who was here for a week for Welters' wedding (but left today, the same time as the hip hop class), told me that I should. Everyone always feels like crap before an exercise or extracirricular activity, and then feels so awesome when they finally finish the class. Well, that rang true. I felt so awesome after the class.

I kind of felt stupid at first, since it was the first dance class that I have taken in probably over 10 years!! I felt so heavy footed, so uncoordinated, so out of shape, and I had sweated so excessively, considering that no one else was sweating like me. I also felt like my lack of memory was killing me. Even now, a few hours after the class, I have already forgotten the moves. I think I am going to go a few more times before I buy a membership and a punch card. This is something I would definitely like to keep up. Since I probably won't be getting a gym membership anytime soon, this is good exercise and deinitely good cardio!!
